About the instutution

The Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) is a leading research center located in the southern part of Barcelona. It brings together the biomedical research efforts of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona (UB) on the Bellvitge Campus. As of January 1st, 2020, IDIBELL has also integrated the Centre of Regenerative Medicine (CMRB).

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced candidate to lead the Processes Area at IDIBELL. This individual will report directly to the Managing Director and will be responsible for developing and implementing organization-wide process policies. This role demands a proactive leader with a strong understanding of process management and a commitment to driving continuous improvement within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the Processes Management strategy for IDIBELL, including budget allocation, detailed planning, and setting clear timeframes to achieve strategic goals.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure alignment between the Processes Management Area and IDIBELL’s main partners within the campus.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead root cause analysis efforts and prioritize processes that are critical to IDIBELL’s operations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully implement various process management projects across the organization.
  • Process Design & Implementation: Oversee the design and implementation of processes across the organization, monitor key metrics, and ensure cohesive operation throughout IDIBELL.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular reports on Processes Management metrics, conduct thorough analyses, and offer informed recommendations for decision-making.

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Proven track record in Processes, Operations, and Quality areas, with at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in applying lean methodologies to optimize processes and improve efficiency
  • Prior experience in designing and implementing procedures and policies in Operations within service companies is essential
  • Knowledge and expertise in operations across various management areas (e.g., Human Resources, Finance, Purchasing, Logistics, Marketing, IT) is highly desirable and considered a strong plus


Education and training

  • Holder of a university degree (preferably in Engineering, though other relevant fields will also be considered)


Technical & soft skills

  • Results-Oriented: Focused on achieving outcomes, with a pragmatic and proactive approach, ready to handle unexpected challenges
  • Teamwork: Strong team-working skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity and prioritize effectively when faced with conflicting demands
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal abilities, with a strong sense of responsibility, empathy, and discretion
  • Resource Management: Capable of working within budget constraints and continuously seeking to optimize resource use
  • Service-Oriented: Highly adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking, with a commitment to ongoing learning and development


Languages

  • Advanced proficiency in both written and spoken English and Catalan/Spanish

 

We will value, but not require

  • A Master's degree in Operations is an added advantage

  •  Estimated annual gross salary: 35.000 € - 38.000 €, plus variable compensation depending on the candidate's profile.
