About the research group
This group focuses on clinical research in cardiovascular diseases and risks, an area of significant relevance as cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of mortality among both women and men in the Western world. The group investigates new surgical and pharmacological treatments to enhance survival and recovery for patients affected by these diseases. They have extensive experience studying drugs that prevent platelet aggregation in the blood.
The arrhythmia unit has developed several research lines, focused on the risk stratification of ventricular arrhythmias and in left bundle branch area pacing.
About the role
The candidate will coordinate the DEEP trial at Bellvitge Hospital and will undergo specific training in electrophysiology. Additionally, the candidate is expected to complete the PhD program at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Barcelona, within the duration of this contract.

- Degree in Medicine
- Cardiologist through MIR
Languages
- Minimum C1 level in English, obtained within the last 10 years
We will value, but not require
- At least 5 months of prior training in an arrhythmia unit during the residency in Cardiology.
- At least one training period of more than 1 month in a hospital outside Spain in the last 2 years
- Experience in a coronary care unit (CCU) treating patients with left ventricular assist devices, including on-call in such a CCU for at least 2 years
- Previous experience in the Department of Cardiology and the Arrhythmia Unit at Bellvitge University Hospital

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
