About the research group
The Psychoneurobiology of Eating and Addictive Behaviors Group at University Hospital of Bellvitge (HUB)/IDIBELL is directed by senior investigators Dr. Fernando Fernández-Aranda and Dr. Susana Jiménez-Murcia. This group encompasses both the Eating Disorders and Behavioural Addictions units, which are part of the Department of Psychiatry at the University Hospital of Bellvitge, Barcelona.
Active for more than 20 years, the team is recognized as one of the groups of excellence in the Centre for Biomedical Research in Network-Pathophysiology of Obesity and Nutrition (CIBEROBN) of the Carlos III Institute of Health (ISCIII) since 2007. Throughout this period, the group has achieved a high level of clinical and research activity. The Eating Disorders Unit offers specialized healthcare for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder, featuring an outpatient clinic, day hospital, and inpatient services. Similarly, the Behavioural Addictions Unit is the largest public healthcare resource in Spain for these disorders, with extensive experience in their diagnosis and treatment. Due to the high level of clinical activity, these units have been officially recognized as national referral centers for difficult cases.
Furthermore, the group conducts cutting-edge research into the etiology and treatment of these disorders, alongside new research lines focused on neurosciences, resulting in significant scientific production and a strong international presence.
About the role
The successful candidate will be actively involved in the design and implementation of tasks associated with research projects on addictive behaviors. Responsibilities will include direct interaction with participants, conducting psychometric and neuropsychological assessments, managing and analyzing data, and supporting the scientific dissemination of results.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, contributing particularly to the identification of risk factors associated with gambling behavior.
Joining this multidisciplinary research group, which engages in highly competitive national and international projects, will significantly enhance the candidate's professional and academic development. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to pursue doctoral studies with the group.
