About the Unit
The Information Technology Unit oversees all IT aspects of IDIBELL and offers support and guidance to its researchers and various support units.
The unit's mission is to assist institutional management in attaining its goals through appropriate, secure, efficient, and innovative technology. It continually strives to meet the needs of the Institution's diverse processes, guided by principles of responsibility, quality, and confidentiality. Its aim is to deliver the highest level of service to users, encompassing support and administration of the research center's technological infrastructure.
About the role
The successful candidate will become part of the Systems area within the Information Technologies Unit.
In the Systems area, they will be tasked with supporting the management of the IDIBELL informatics structure and will be responsible for:

Ensuring the operational stability, security, and efficiency of the center's infrastructure

Ensuring the security of data, including privacy, access, and confidentiality

Configuring, installing, updating, and troubleshooting servers related to IT services
-
Managing server clusters (Vmware)

Managing disk cabinets (NetAPP)
-
Managing Fortinet firewall and switch configurations
-
Administering various storage systems
-
Maintaining and creating user support registration
-
Assisting in the administration of Linux/Unix systems
Job requirements
Professional experience
-
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position is required, preferably within a research, university, or hospital environment
Education and training
Technical skills
-
Advanced knowledge of the current systems used in the center, including Vmware, Netapp, Commvault, Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and Fortinet, is essential

Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 admin center

Proficiency in Windows Server administration
-
Proficiency in Vmware administration

Our institute
IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV). The research focuses of IDIBELL are cancer, neuroscience, translational medicine and regenerative medicine. Research, innovation and society are the pivots on which researchers work every day in order to improve the quality of life of citizens.
