Postdoctoral Researcher - TGF-beta and Cancer
Ref.: 24-016_R_EE
About the research group
TGF-beta and Cancer
The Pancreatic Cancer Lab focuses on gaining a better understanding on the heterogeneity that exists in pancreatic cancer tumors from different patients. Understanding how different tumor cell identities are regulated and how they define complex interactions with the tumor microenvironment are part of the questions our research aims to answer. To this end, we use state-of-the art omics analyses (transcriptomics and epigenetics), which we complement with functional studies using primary in vitro and in vivo models.
About the role
We are looking for a motivated Junior Postdoctoral Researcher to join our group. The candidate will work on the European funded project TranSLIT (ERA-NET TRANSCAN). The project runs within an European Consortium (Belgium, Spain, Italy & France) and focuses on understanding the interplay between cancer cells, cancer-associated fibroblasts, endothelial and immune cells in pancreatic cancer. Particularly, we explore the mechanisms driving immune cell exclusion and exhaustion within sub-tumor microenvironment areas. By combining state-of-the-art techniques such as spatial transcriptomics and de novo drug design with primary human material, we aim to design better stratification methods and treatment options for patients with pancreatic cancer.
