About the research group
Infections and Cancer
The Unit of Information and Interventions in Infections and Cancer (UNIC II) has long-standing expertise in the prevention of HPV infections and cervical cancer. It facilitates information for decision-making bodies and enables public health interventions both nationally and internationally. UNIC II is recognized for conducting high-quality research to improve the prevention of cancers associated with HPV infection.
The PROTECT-EUROPE is a European Union funded project that aims to tackle the disparities in HPV vaccine coverage across Europe. To do so, it will address the training needs on HPV-related knowledge and one-to-one communication of healthcare professionals to young people and their parents/carers via training. It will also provide Member States and civil society organizations with guidance and campaign tools aimed at young people and their parents/carers. All the project’s outputs will be made available via an accessible online hub. The whole project will be independently evaluated by an academic institution. It involves 34 organizations from 17 countries.
About the role
To perform mainly the tasks of the international project management (PROTECT), particularly to:
- Coordinate the participation of the UNIC II in the development of the different Work Packages (WP), in direct relation with the WP leaders of the PROTECT
- Prepare follow-up reports and deliverables of the ‘WP4-Member States’ Guidelines and Support’ according to the PROTECT Project Schedule
- Prepare and attend PROTECT online and face-to-face coordination meetings
- Lead the development of the HPV vaccination training related to the PROTECT project
- Participate in obtaining, interpreting and disseminating results of the PROTECT
- Coordinate and establish synergies between PROTECT and other projects within UNIC II

Languages

- Research in projects related to cervical cancer prevention
- Master in Public Health
- Experience in the development of training courses directed to healthcare professionals

Our institute
IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
