About the research group

Synovial inflammation and bone metabolism

The group is part of the Cardiovascular, Respiratory and Systemic Diseases and Cellular Aging Program, integrated in the Translation Medicine area.

The main research areas focus on rheumatoid arthritis, systemic autoimmune diseases, osteoarticular infection and osteoporosis.

Its members are part of national research networks and participate in relevant research projects and clinical trials.

About the role

The candidate will manage a database with an elevated number of variables. The candidate will be in charge of cleaning up the databse, and to perform the statistic analysis in order to integrate biomarkers, genetics, environmental exposure and microbiota data into an approach to stratify patients regarding their clinical manifestations and prognosis.

Job requirements

Professional experience

• Experience working in the Health Data field
• Experience in R, Python, C and C++ programming

Education and training

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Physics, with a focus on Statistics
• Ongoing Master's degree studies in Statistics (to perform the master thesis on our research group) 

Technical & soft skills

• Data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis
• Knowledge in pattern recognition and predictive modelling
• Access, Excel, PowerPoint, LaTeX, and programming languages (ex.: Python, RStudio)
• Analytical vision and problem-solving skills

Languages

• C2 level of English

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
