About the research group

Tumor Angiogenesis group is a research group in the ProCURE Program and OncoBell Program from the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) and Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), with a particular interest in mechanisms of antiangiogenic resistance and of metastasis. We are an enthusiastic team focused on understanding how we can efficiently discover new targets and treatments for metastasis or for treatment-resistant cancer patients.

 

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate who wants to join our team to perform his/her doctoral thesis and develop his/her career in a cancer research laboratory. The candidate will join our group with an FPI contract and salary to develop our PID-MICIN project entitled "Dissection of Platelets and Coagulation genes’ mechanisms in Kidney Cancer Metastasis (PlaCoMets)".

 

Job requirements

Practical experience

  • Laboratory experience of several months (TFG, TFM or more)
  • Experience in cellular and molecular biology, cell culture and animal models


Education and training

  • Masters in Biosciences (cancer, biomedicine, biotech, biology, human genetics...)
  • Accredited in Animal Experimentation (preferred)


Technical & soft skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good listener, fast learner with exceptional ability to understand and simplify complex problems
  • Relevant interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships with project team members


Languages

  • Good command of the English language

 

We will value, but not required

  • Laboratory experience beyond Master's lab stay (TFM)
  • Experience in animal models of cancer, transgenics or PDX
  • Laboratory techniques to value: flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, advanced cell culture

  • Estimated annual gross salary: 17.650 €

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
