Reference: 23-189_R_SS
IDIBELL is looking for a Predoctoral Researcher to study Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): a journey from pneumology to clinical microbiology and beyond…
About the research group
Pneumology and Epidemiology
The Pneumology research group seeks for answers to respiratory clinical problems, giving therapeutical solutions for pneumologic diseases that lack effective treatments.
The Epidemiology of bacterial infections research group focuses on clinical, microbiological and epidemiological research lines, including infection caused by mulidrug-resistant bacteria, which are a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide.
A close collaboration between both research groups will bring a multidisciplinary new approach to chronic respiratory infections.
About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to participate in a project related to the study of chronic respiratory infections at the Hospital de Bellvitge. The candidate will be the bridge between the pneumology and microbiology services, carrying out multidisciplinary microbiome-based projects focused on the clinical aspects of the disease but also playing an important role in microbial characterization, using next generation sequencing as a tool to study the composition of the microbiota.
