Auxiliary Support Technician - Gene Regulation of Cell Identity Lab
Reference: 23-185_SS_MP
About the research group
Research at the Gene Regulation of Cell Identity Group aims at understanding how post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms and their regulators, mainly RBPs and miRNAs, are involved in the establishment of cellular identity and how their dysregulation contributes to the development of neurodegenerative diseases. For this purpose, we use iPSCs to model neural differentiation in humans and study their differentiation process using a combination of molecular biology techniques with high-throughput omics and computational tools.

About the role
The successful applicant will use proximity ligation techniques to study the protein and RNA interaction networks of specific RBPs in neurogenesis using iPSC derived neural progenitor cells as well as contribute to other ongoing project in the lab in the context of RBP function in neurogenesis. His/her duties include working with iPSCs and performing standard molecular biology analyses to study protein-RNA interactions in vitro such as cloning, protein purification, transfection, western blot, PCR, etc. Additionally, he/she will be expected to prepare figures and reports summarizing the work performed and its interpretation. He/she will work under direct supervision of Dr. Fernández Moya and Dr. Plass and will be expected to frequently interact with other experimental members of the lab.
