About the research group
The candidate will join the research group “Resistance and Progression Mechanisms in Prostate Cancer”, focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in prostate cancer progression, metastasis and therapy resistance. The group combines translational and multidisciplinary approaches to identify novel biomarkers and therapeutic opportunities in advanced prostate cancer.
About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated Research Support professional to support ongoing research projects in the field of cancer biology. The candidate will participate in routine laboratory activities, sample processing, molecular and cellular experiments, data organisation and general laboratory maintenance. The position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative research environment.
Job requirements
Professional experience
- Previous experience working in a biomedical or molecular biology laboratory.
- Experience in cell culture and handling of biological samples.
- Knowledge of standard molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, Western blot and RNA/DNA extraction.
- Experience with histological techniques and sample processing will be considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Education and training
- Vocational Training qualification (Intermediate or Higher Level) in Laboratory, Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory, Biotechnology, or a related field.
Technical & soft skills
- Good organization and project managing skills
- Analytical and critical thinking
- Team work
- Good communication skills (written and oral communication)
Languages
- Good command of the English language
We will value, but not required
- Experience with bioinformatics or omics-related techniques.
- Experience working with animal models or histological staining
