About the research group

The Bioheart Research Group at IDIBELL (Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute) is dedicated to advancing cardiovascular research, innovation, and education. The group works closely with clinicians, researchers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop projects aimed at improving cardiovascular health, promoting scientific dissemination, and strengthening specialized training in health sciences.
Bioheart is actively involved in research, innovation, and educational initiatives and seeks to enhance the visibility and impact of its activities through effective digital communication and dissemination strategies.

 

About the role

The Communication and Social Media Officer will support the Bioheart Research Group in managing and strengthening its digital communication and dissemination activities. The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting in the creation, management, and dissemination of content across the group’s communication channels, particularly social media platforms and digital media.

The role includes collaborating with researchers and healthcare professionals to communicate research activities, scientific results, educational initiatives, and events in an accessible and engaging way. The officer will contribute to increasing the visibility and outreach of Bioheart’s projects and activities.

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Experience in social media management and digital communication strategies.
  • Experience in creating and managing digital content for institutional or research environments.
  • Experience managing social media accounts and online dissemination activities.

Education and training

  •  Higher vocational training (Grado Superior) in Communication, Marketing, Audiovisual Production, Digital Media, or related fields.
  • Additional training or experience in science communication, health communication, or digital marketing will be considered an advantage. 

Technical & soft skills

  • Experience managing social media platforms (X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, or similar).
  • Ability to create engaging written and visual content for digital platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe, or similar).
  • Ability to plan and schedule digital communication campaigns.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Creativity, proactivity, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to translate scientific or technical information into accessible communication materials.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate communication tasks within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Languages

  • Good command of the English language
  •  Native level of Spanish and Catalan required.

 

We will value, but not required

  • Experience in science communication or biomedical research environments.
  • Experience managing communication activities for research groups, hospitals, or academic institutions.
  • Knowledge of website content management systems (CMS).
  • Experience in audiovisual content creation or video editing.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools for social media performance and digital communication metrics.

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV). The research focuses of IDIBELL are cancer, neuroscience, translational medicine and regenerative medicine.
