About the research group
We are a multidisciplinary research group working on Hereditary Cancer at the Catalan Institute of Oncology, Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL). Our work, whether clinical- or research-oriented, is focused on the improvement of healthcare of patients with a personal or a family history of cancer.
The overarching goal of our research activity is to gain insight into the molecular bases of hereditary cancer -with a particular interest in gastrointestinal cancer, Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer and Rare Tumor predisposing syndromes – to personalize risk assessment for patients and relatives, as well as to individualize management regarding follow-up, treatment, and prophylactic and preventive measures. The group participates in international and national initiatives aimed to improve variant classification in hereditary cancer genes, define clinical guidelines for hereditary cancer patients, and implement genomic-based personalized medicine in the National Health System.
About the role
At Hereditary Cancer Program ICO-IDIBELL we are looking for a motivated Project Manager to coordinate a collaborative national project (PMP22_VUSCan) whose objective is the variant prioritization in hereditary cancer cases and their functional validation for diagnostic resolution in the public healthcare system. The PM will:
- Provide scientific and administrative coordination and support to all members of the project (interdisciplinary interaction).
- Control of the financial resources and quality management of the project.
- Case and research follow-up and report to the coordinator working package (oral and written).
- Follow-up of the action plan and the fulfillment of the objectives during the different steps of the project execution.
- Organize meetings, workshops and other events related to the project.
- Draft of deliverables, reports and of new national and international proposals.
- Participate in the dissemination of the project results.
Job requirements
Professional experience
- Experience in public research or clinical project management.
- Experience in national and international collaborative projects.
- Knowledge of the Public Healthcare System (SNS).
Education and training
- PhD in Life Science or equivalent (essential)
Technical & soft skills
- Full command of MS Office.
- Competences: planning and organizational skills, communication, proactivity, problem-solving, teamwork.
Languages
- Good command of the English and Spanish language (oral and written).
We will value, but not required
- Project Management training.
- Cancer or genetics research background.
- Experience in a diagnostics setting.
- Experience in data analysis, especially NGS.

- Estimated annual gross salary: The annual gross salary (SBA) for the part-time position is 16.340,55€.

Our institute
IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV). The research focuses of IDIBELL are cancer, neuroscience, translational medicine and regenerative medicine.
