About the research group

The Pneumology research group headed by Dr. Maria Molina Molina at IDIBELL is seeking an enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher with experience in molecular and cellular biology as well as lung disease research to join their interdisciplinary team. The research group is focused on looking for answers to respiratory clinical problems and therapeutical solutions for patients suffering of pneumological diseases without effective treatments.

About the role

This postdoctoral scientist position stems from a public-private collaboration. The candidate will contribute to understanding the role of telomere shortening in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and the development of translational preclinical models to test a novel therapy.

Job requirements

Professional experience

• Previous experience and advanced skills in some of the following: culture of human cells (preferably lung cells) and/or organoids.
• Experience in developing molecular biology methods such as handling RNA, DNA and proteins.

Education and training

•  PhD in life sciences required

• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Results orientation and proactivity.

Languages

• Good command of the English language

We will value, but not required

• Experience in generation of patient-derived preclinical models, such as precision cut lung slides (PCLS) would be considered a plus.

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
