About the unit

The IDIBELL Financial Management Department includes the Accounting, Financial control, and the Billing and Travels units.
The Accounting Unit manages, values and records the economic transactions carried out by the institution in order to prepare complete and reliable reports in accordance with current legislation. All activities related to the management of fixed assets, taxes, treasury and communications of an economic and general nature of the Institution with the outside (Generalitat, Auditors, clients and suppliers) are also carried out by this Unit.
The Billing and Travels Unit brings together the activities of creating billing files for the control and issuance of invoices for contract research, training and clinical trials projects, as well as the internal and external reporting of all the services provided by the scientific platforms and services of the Institution. It also includes all activities derived from the management of travel and allowances of researchers and personnel related to IDIBELL.

 

About the role

IDIBELL is seeking a Head of Financial management to join the Financial team. The role involves coordinating and supervising the Financial Department:

- Design and implement financial development programs that align with our strategy.
- Provide effective financial monitoring, forecast and analysis to support the management of resources and decision making.
- Oversee accounting according to the accounting plan
            - Prepare and explain financial reports and financial statements.
            - Co-ordinate, manage and execute taxes preparation and payment.
            - Plan and monitor billing.
            - Attend account audits and prepare annual accounts.
            - Prepare and oversee financial budgets.
            - Manage, oversee and report treasury statements.

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Minimum five years of experience in the in-house Financial Department of a company in the biomedical research sector.
  • Good Command of Fundanet. It is a must
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting and the accounting plan, as well as tax filing.
  • Good Track Record in preparing and reporting financial reports and financial statements.
  • Proven experience in auditing accounts in Foundations and in preparing annual accounts.
  • Proven expertise in preparing financial budgets. You must have controller mind.
  • Teams leadership experience.

Education and training

  • University degree in Business Administration or similar
  • Master or MBA is a Plus

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV). The research focuses of IDIBELL are cancer, neuroscience, translational medicine and regenerative medicine.
