About the research group

The Regenerative Medicine Program of IDIBELL integrates fundamental and translational research on the use of cells and tissues to treat degenerative diseases. The Program is currently composed by 7 independent research groups whose activities span broad areas of science, including stem cell biology, developmental biology, regeneration and aging, development of advanced therapies, and molecular mechanisms of disease. The Program also hosts the Barcelona Stem Cell Bank, node of the Carlos III Institute of Health's Spanish Cell Bank, which generates, registers, and banks human iPS cell lines.

The Regenerative Medicine Program of IDIBELL is a key part of the Program for the Clinical Translation of Regenerative Medicine in Catalonia (P-CMR[C]), a transversal action in the Catalan environment that brings together the relevant stakeholders for advancing the clinical translation of strategies of regenerative medicine based on the use of pluripotent stem cells.

 

About the role

The main duties for this position are the following:

  • Identify new funding opportunities, covering both national and international competitive calls, aligning them with REGENBELL strategic areas and priorities.
  • Support on the proposal submission: strategic evaluation of proposals, preparation of budget, support on proposal writing and submission.
  • Ensuring the correct implementation of projects: coordination between partners within inter-national projects; general project coordination, keeping track of project agendas, meetings and deadlines. Managing any changes tmay arise during the execution of grants: financial, duration, team members.
  • Budget monitoring at group level, considering all funded projects.
  • Support on the liaising between PIs and other IDIBELL support areas, assuring compliance with internal procedures and regulations.

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • At least four years of experience in research project management, in particular regarding EU Framework Programme projects (Horizon Europe) and other EU & international funding schemes

Education and training

  •  PhD in Biological related science 

Technical & soft skills

  • Advanced knowledge of research competitive funding environment.
  • Team-orientated work person with capacity to work autonomously and planning capacity
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills within an international context
  • Well-organised person, commitment to deliver on tasks allocated and respond in a timely manner to deadlines
  • Advanced user of MS Office (MS Word, Excel and Power Point).

Languages

  • Fluent in Spanish and English language
  • A good knowledge of Catalan is highly desirable

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV). The research focuses of IDIBELL are cancer, neuroscience, translational medicine and regenerative medicine.
