About the research group
The Neurometabolic Diseases Laboratory directed by Dr. Aurora Pujol investigates the physiopathology (impact of oxidative stress in mitochondrial function, energetic homeostasis and proteolytic processes) in X-linked Adrenoleukodystrophy and other hereditary leukodystrophies and possible therapeutic targets. The knowledge of new therapeutic targets allows the study of activators/inhibitors of these pathways in mouse models, proof of concept preclinical tests and their subsequent translation into clinical trials.
About the role
We are seeking a physiologist interested in organellar crosstalk, bioenergetics, immunology, aging and neuroscience, eager to work with animal models. Multiomic approaches to decipher pathogenesis and the metabolic needs of the brain in development will be applied to find cures for ultrarare metabolic diseases.

- Degree in medical physiology, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Pharmacy
