About the research group

The candidate will join the group led by Dr. Laura Valle at the Hereditary Cancer Program of the Catalan Institute of Oncology, IDIBELL. About the role

  • End-to-end analysis of germline NGS data (whole-exome, whole-genome and targeted panel sequencing) for the identification and interpretation of genes/variants involved in hereditary cancer
  • End-to-end analysis of somatic NGS data (whole-exome, whole-genome and targeted panel sequencing) including variant detection and downstream analyses such as tumor mutational burden and mutational signatures
  • Analysis and interpretation of different types of genomic alterations (SNVs, InDels, copy-number alterations, and other relevant events)
  • Access, management, and analysis of data from public cancer genomics repositories
  • Development, adaptation, and maintenance of reproducible bioinformatics workflows and pipelines
  • Analysis of genotyping data (SNP arrays), variant imputation, and calculation of polygenic risk scores
