International Project Manager - Infections and Cancer

Ref.: 24-067_MS_MB

About the research group

The Unit of Information and Interventions in Infections and Cancer (UNIC II) has long-standing expertise in the prevention of HPV infections and cervical cancer. It facilitates information for decision-making bodies and enables public health interventions both nationally and internationally. UNIC II is recognized for conducting high-quality research to improve the prevention of cancers associated with HPV infection.

The European Partnership to Contrast HPV (PERCH) is a European Union-funded project that will involve 17 European countries. The general objective of PERCH is to contribute to the implementation of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, which aims to support Member States’ efforts to extend the roll-out of routine HPV vaccination to eliminate cervical cancer and other cancers caused by HPV in the coming decade. PERCH begins with an analysis of how HPV vaccination and screening are implemented and monitored in all participating countries. It will then analyze determinants of vaccination hesitation to increase knowledge and awareness, targeting populations on the benefits of vaccine uptake. Training activities will also be provided for health personnel on vaccination communication. Finally, before the end of the Joint Action (JA), Member States will be supported to launch large-scale HPV vaccination campaigns.

About the role

  • Support the Principal Investigator (PI) and coordinate the tasks of the researchers at UNIC II, as well as the leaders of the Work Package (WP) and national coordinators of the PERCH project.

  • Prepare follow-up and deliverable reports for WP3-Evaluation according to the PERCH Project Schedule.
  • Prepare for and attend PERCH online and face-to-face coordination meetings.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports for the PERCH project in coordination with the researchers at UNIC II.
