About the unit

The Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge is a leading institution for clinical research across various therapeutic areas. In 2023, the Ethics Committee for Investigation with Medicinal Products (CEIm) assessed 581 biomedical research projects, including 55 clinical trials involving medicinal products.

 

About the role

The candidate will join the Technical Secretariat as the lead, supported by a team of four individuals. This role reports directly to the Chairman and Vice-Chairman. We are seeking a dynamic candidate with strong team collaboration skills and the ability to work autonomously.


The main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Preparing for and attending CEIm meetings
  • Organizing meetings, confirming attendance, and monitoring quorum
  • Issuing reports detailing decisions made during meetings regarding evaluated studies
  • Reviewing documentation for assessment and ensuring compliance with ethical and methodological criteria. Requesting any missing documentation
  • Preparing and co-signing meeting minutes with the Chairman
  • Compiling the annual activity report of the CEIm
  • Providing advice and support to Principal Investigators (PIs) regarding ethical and legal aspects
  • Managing correspondence and resolving in-person, telephone, and email inquiries
  • Preliminary classification of all research projects received by the CEIm
  • Performing other legally mandated functions and duties outlined in the internal operating rules of the Committee

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Experience with the current national and international legislation in clinical research
  • Experience with the operation of Ethics Committees for Investigation with medicinal products (CEIm)


Education and training

  • Degree or Ph. D. in Health Sciences
  • Education in Bioethics


Technical & soft skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Analytical skills


Languages

  • Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, and written and spoken English

  • Previous experience as the head of the Technical Secretariat
