About the research group

Biomedical Research Group on Heart Disease, BIO-HEART, is a renewed emerging group part of the Program of research in inflammatory, chronic, and degenerative diseases. It comprises health professionals associated with the management of cardiovascular diseases, as basic postdoctoral researchers, clinical cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, specialized nurses, community family medicine professional and cardiologists specialized in imaging techniques for diagnosis of coronary artery disease and heart failure. The majority of the professionals are part of the Hospital Universitario de Bellvitge and first care community area DELTA. BIOHEART background is a strong clinical network of senior researchers in heart failure and coronary diseases working on multidisciplinary teams that have transferred the scientific knowledge outputs obtained from previous research projects to redesign the care of patients with cardiovascular diseases.

The Biomedical Research Group on Heart Disease, BIO-HEART, is a newly established emerging group within the Program of Research in Inflammatory, Chronic, and Degenerative Diseases. It encompasses healthcare professionals involved in the management of cardiovascular diseases, including basic postdoctoral researchers, clinical cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, specialized nurses, community family medicine professionals, and cardiologists specializing in imaging techniques for the diagnosis of coronary artery disease and heart failure. The majority of professionals are affiliated with the Hospital Universitario de Bellvitge and the primary care community area DELTA. BIO-HEART has a solid foundation in a clinical network of experienced researchers in heart failure and coronary diseases, collaborating in multidisciplinary teams. These teams have effectively translated scientific knowledge acquired from previous research projects into the redesign of cardiovascular patient care.

 

About the role

Part-time Nurse needed to support the recruitment and monitoring process of patients in the CARCINOS Registry, a Cardioncology Registry, in the afternoons (1-2 days/week).

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting specialized nursing tasks in the comprehensive assessment of patients in Cardioncology
  • Providing fieldwork, methodological, and scientific support to the CARCINOS patient registry and other clinical studies and registries
  • Inclusion of patients in observational studies or registries and clinical trials
  • Management of study information in databases
  • Data entry
  • Handling biological clinical samples
  • Conducting person-centered assessments based on questions
  • Managing the patient log and registering patients included in the studies
  • Performing necessary statistical analyses to exploit research data
  • Preparing reports of study results
  • Developing and delivering communications to congresses and scientific publications related to the studies in which they are involved

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Accredited active participation in managing and following up on complex chronic patients using telemedicine or other advanced medical assistance devices
  • Accredited experience as a user of database management systems (e.g., RedCap)
  • Demonstrable experience in managing patients with new technologies


Education and training

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Accredited training in clinical research


Technical & soft skills

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Basic understanding of clinical research and proficiency in data analysis


Languages

  • Good command of the Spanish, Catalan, and English languages
