About the research group

Psychoneurobiology of Eating and Addictive Behaviours

The Specialist Technician will be incorporated into the Digitalization for the Sustainability of the Healthcare System (DS3) research group, affiliated with IDIBELL. The group focus its research on the development, implementation, and assessment of digital health solutions for improving public health and healthcare delivery.

 

About the role

We are looking to incorporate a part-time Specialist Technician at the Digitalization for the Sustainability of the Healthcare System research group to work on the EU funded project eprObes (“Preventing lifetime obesity by early risk-factor identification, prognosis and intervention”, funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation program under grant agreement No 101080219). The eprObes project aims to identify genetic, social, and clinical determinants of obesity, and use them to develop, implement, and assess public health strategies to reduce obesity in various populations.

The project include population-based analyses of healthcare datasets used in routine care. Therefore, we seek to appoint an enthusiastic and talented data scientist willing to join our team in a part-time contract.

The main duties for this position are the following:

  • Analyze epidemiological trends of obesity in several European regions
  • Build statistical models for identifying factors that may contribute to explain changes in epidemiological trends

Professional experience

  • Experience in health data science


Education and training

  •  Bachelor's Degree or Engineer


Soft skills

  • Well-organized person with very good attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Team player with good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills


Languages

  • Good command of the English language
