About the research group
The Perisurgical physiopathology and pain group carries out research in the areas of perioperative medice, pain, and anesthesia in traumatology, emergency medicine and emergency medical care.
About the role
We are looking for a Master’s Thesis student to join the AIINANE project at the Hospital Universitario de Bellvitge. Your mission will be to design and implement a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline that supports an intelligent chatbot capable of answering patients’ questions about their preoperative process in a safe, reliable, and clinically validated manner.
Moreover, you will be supporting the development of the software Aiinane. This includes front-end and back-end tasks.

- No prior experience required.
Education and training
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field
Technical & soft skills
- Strong programming skills, preferably in Python.
- Some experience with front-end or back-end development (even at a basic level).
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Good communication and critical-thinking abilities
Languages
- Good command of English, Spanish, and Catalan
We will value, but not required
- Enrollment in a Masters degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related.
- Basic understanding of MLOps or containerization (e.g., Docker).
- Experience with RAG frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack, etc.).
- Familiarity with NLP or LLM-based systems.
