About the research group

The Nephrology and Renal Transplantation research group interest spans a broad area, ranging from immunology, renal replacement therapy, transplantation, chronic kidney disease including diabetic nephropathy, and regenerative medicine. Our research is mainly translational, collaborative and aimed to improve the care and health of patients with kidney diseases. Our ultimate goal is innovation in disease monitoring and therapy, gathering basic science with our clinical expertise, to move towards personalized medicine in Nephrology

 

About the role

    • Collection and handling of primary biological samples (human and murine)

    • Isolation and maintenance techniques for primary cell cultures

    • Histology techniques in human and mouse tissue (paraffin inclusion, cryostat cutting, immunohistochemistry, etc.). Determination of histopathological parameters

    • Immunoassay techniques (e.g. ELISA) and protein isolation and detection by Western blot

Education and training

  •  CFGM related to pathological anatomy, immunity and/or cytology 


Technical & soft skills

  • Basic knowledge of Excel
  • Responsible, organized, methodical, and team player
  • Person with initiative, own resources, and positive attitude towards teamwork


Languages

  • Good command of the English language

 

We will value, but not required

  • Experience in handling biological material, both clinical and laboratory techniques in cell cultures and working under sterile conditions
  • Experience in histology and Western blot techniques
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques
  • Office automation knowledge at user level: use of systems and databases

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
