About the research group

Health Services Research in Cancer

The Health Services Research in Cancer Group is made up of ten researchers with a multidisciplinary composition that includes doctors, biostatistics, economists, political scientists, and psychologists.

The main objectives of the group defined for the next three years are to analyze the impact of cancer on the population of Catalonia and investigate the determinants that explain the use of health services in cancer screening and care. To achieve these objectives, the group applies a combination of quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods resulting from its multidisciplinary composition, as well as the combination of clinical, administrative and economic data, with a population-based approach as a priority, as well as applying real-world data analysis methodologies. A specific area of development is the use of information technologies in psychological support or therapeutic adherence, which can be useful for improving care in a process of healthcare change such as the current one.

 

About the role

Researcher who will carry out, together with the PI, all work related to implementation of the HER2DX diagnostic test by clinical guidelines and health systems, will promote the incorporation of affordable non-invasive diagnostic tools in the field of genomics and precision oncology. This action is part of the group of projects of the Cancer Mission on “Diagnosis and Treatment (diagnosis)”.

Education and training

  • Degree in health of science (pharmacy, biomedicine...)
  • PhD 


Technical & soft skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead the process of publishing results in peer review journals
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and advise predoctoral reserachers
  • Flexible and adaptable person, with good capacity for teamwork


Languages

  • Good command of the English language

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV). The research focuses of IDIBELL are cancer, neuroscience, translational medicine and regenerative medicine. Research, innovation and society are the pivots on which researchers work every day in order to improve the quality of life of citizens.
