About the research group

Immunity, inflammation and cancer

The Immune-Oncolytic Viruses group is integrated within the Immunology Unit, Department of Pathology and Experimental Therapies, from the University of Barcelona-IDIBELL at the Bellvitge Campus. The research group is focused on developing novel immunotherapies against cancer based on virus able to replicate in cancer cells and to elicit a potent immunity against tumors. These viruses are genetically engineered and tested in vitro in tissue cultures and in vivo in mouse tumor models.


About the role

The candidate will help to develop novel immune-oncolytic vaccinia viruses expressing different transgenes to improve the establishment of antitumor immune responses. The viruses will be generated by genetic engineering and tested in human and mouse tumor cells in vitro.

  •  CFGM in laboratory 

Technical skills

  • Basic kwowledge of tissue culture
  • Basic kwowledge of constructing recombinant viruses

Languages

  • Good command of the English language
