About the research group

The Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) is a research center in biomedicine promoted by the Bellvitge University Hospital and the Viladecans Hospital, both from the Catalan Health Institute, the Catalan Institute of Oncology, University of Barcelona and L’Hospitalet de Llobregat city council. The successful candidate will join the Breast Cancer Research group (Procure-ONCOBELL). The PReTT group focuses on the study of novel therapeutic strategies in thoracic tumours combining basic molecular and patient-oriented translational research, bioinformatics, and also design and development of investigator-initiated clinical trials. Dr Piulats lead the Cancer Immunotherapy Group (CIT). It investigates the development of new cancer treatments based on the administration of oncolytic viruses, adoptive cell therapy, and other strategies aimed at improving the immune system's response against the tumor. Our special interest in those tumors that are poorly immunogenic or "cold" (prostate cancer, uveal melanoma, ovarian cancer, or colon cancer with microsatellite stability; among others).

 

About the role

The selected person will implement and maintain new clinical and molecular databases, as well as monitoring and participating in different projects in the Medical Oncology Service. The successful candidate will coordinate the sample processing and shipment to different centers involved in the projects. Additional responsibilities include: supporting researchers and implementing electronic tools; collecting clinical data from patient registries and entering it into clinical and research applications; resolving queries; communicating with collaborators on the national project and clinical researchers; and preparing for and attending meetings.

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Experience in a similar role in clinical trials will be valued.
  • Experience in database development will be valued.
  • Experience with the REDCap database.

Education and training

  •  Higher Vocational Training Qualification in Health Documentation and Administration, Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory, Nursing, or a related field within the health sciences.
  • Certified training in database management. 

Technical & soft skills

  • Experience with the electronic health record system SAP ARGOS
  • Experience as Data Entry and maintenance of databases.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and international team.
  • Previous experience coordinating with clinical trials.

Languages

  • Good command of the English language
