About the research group

This group’s research covers various lines of clinical and microbiological research, and includes multiple antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections, which are a large cause of morbidity and mortality. The study of risk factors and clinical characteristics in chronic respiratory infections, as well as the knowledge of genotypes, virulence factors and mechanisms of antibiotic resistance of bacterial pathogens, are essential for controlling epidemic outbreaks due to multi-resistant bacteria. In addition, the study of microbiome composition and host-pathogen interactions complement bacterial characterization and translation into the clinical setting.

About the role

Nucleic acid purification and sequencing. Biostatistical and bioinformatic analysis. Performance of antibiotic susceptibility testing studies. Cell line maintenance and infection. Cellular visualization using confocal microscopy.
