About the research group

This group focusses on clinical research in the area of cardiovascular diseases and risks, and has extensive experience in a highly relevant field, as cardiovascular diseases remain the main cause of mortality among both women and men in the Western world.

The group studies new surgical and pharmacological treatments for improving survival and recovery of patients affected by these diseases. It has extensive experience in the study of drugs which prevent platelet aggregation in the blood, specifically.

 

About the role

The selected candidate will join the Heart Disease Area and participate in an advanced clinical and research training program focused on the surgical management of advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support (MCS), and heart transplantation.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, the candidate will contribute to clinical, research, and academic activities related to advanced heart failure therapies, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation.

 

Job requirements

 

Professional experience

  • Previous experience in clinical research, cardiovascular surgery, advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, heart transplantation, or related fields will be considered an asset.

 

Education and training

  •  Higher Vocational Training (CFGS) or equivalent. 

 

Technical & soft skills

  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary clinical and research teams.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Interest in clinical research and advanced cardiovascular therapies.

 

Languages

  • Good command of the English language

 

 

We will value, but not required

  • Cardiovascular Surgery residency (MIR) or officially recognized equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Catalan.

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV). The research focuses of IDIBELL are cancer, neuroscience, translational medicine and regenerative medicine.
