About the research group

IDIBELL is looking for an Intermediate Occupational Risk Prevention Technician to join the ICO-IDIBELL Joint Prevention Service (SPPM ICO-IDIBELL). The successful candidate will provide direct support to the Head of the Service and act as an operational liaison with the technical team, contributing to the organisation, functional coordination and day-to-day supervision of activities. The role also includes technical prevention duties across ICO and IDIBELL work centres, with priority dedication to Hospital Duran i Reynals - ICO Hospitalet and availability to travel to the different sites.

The ICO-IDIBELL Joint Prevention Service integrates occupational risk prevention activities for ICO and IDIBELL in accordance with RD 39/1997, defining, planning and implementing the occupational risk prevention policy across their work centres.

About the role

• Provide direct support to the Head of the Service in organising, planning, prioritising and monitoring prevention activities.

• Functionally coordinate the technical team’s day-to-day work: follow up task allocation, centralise incidents, monitor deadlines and facilitate reporting to the Head of the Service.

• Act as the operational liaison between the Head of the Service and the technical team, supporting consistent criteria and monitoring preventive actions.

• Contribute to preventive planning, annual reports, monitoring documents and activity indicators.

• Carry out risk assessments, safety inspections and visits to work centres, laboratories and work areas, proposing and monitoring preventive and corrective measures.

• Investigate accidents, incidents and occupational diseases and prepare the relevant technical reports.

• Provide support in emergencies, evacuation, first aid and self-protection plans.

• Prepare technical documentation and deliver basic occupational risk prevention training and information.

• Collaborate with departments and services and support coordination of business activities (CAE).

• Availability to travel to the different ICO and IDIBELL work centres.

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in occupational risk prevention, preferably in healthcare, biomedical research, laboratories or equivalent complex environments.
  • Proven experience in organising and monitoring technical activities, operational team coordination and priority management.
  • Experience in safety inspections, corrective action follow-up, accident investigations and prevention training.

Education and training

  • University degree, preferably in Psychology, Health Sciences, Scientific-Technical disciplines or other qualifications related to the role.
  • Higher Vocational Qualification in Occupational Risk Prevention (intermediate level) or recognised equivalent qualification.
  • Driving licence (B) and availability to travel between work centres. 

Technical & soft skills

  • Planning, organisational and priority-management skills.
  • Functional coordination, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Autonomy, proactivity, analytical ability, technical rigour and problem-solving orientation.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and integrated occupational risk prevention management tools such as PREVENGOS or equivalent.

Languages

  • Good command of the English language
  • Fluency in Spanish and Catalan.

We will value, but not required

  • Previous experience in biomedical research environments and laboratories. Knowledge or specific training in biosafety, chemical risks, emergencies and self-protection plans.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial risk assessment, healthy organisations or prevention management systems.
  • Knowledge of English and ACTIC accreditation or equivalent.
