About the research group

The Stem Cell Potency group of IDIBELL’s Regenerative Medicine Program has longstanding interest and expertise in the generation, genetic manipulation, and directed differentiation of pluripotent stem cells, as well as in advanced tissue engineering strategies.

About the role

The successful candidate will use iPSC-based disease modeling and CRISPR/Cas9 genome edition to interrogate the genetic bases of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Job requirements

Professional experience

• Strong background in stem cell biology and/or cardiac development
• Proven expertise in the culture, manipulation, and directed differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells

Education and training

•  PhD in Health Sciences: Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedicine, etc. 

Soft skills

• Project planning, analytical and critical thinking, ethics and integrity, leadership, information seeking and management

Languages

• Good command of the English language

We will value, but not required

• Previous experience with cardiac muscle differentiation of stem cells
• Previous experience with CRISPR/Cas9 genome edition

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
