About the research group

The Immune-inflammatory Processes research group carries out translational research with a primary focus on the molecular basis of immune-inflammatory processes. Its aim is to promote relevant, high-quality research into inflammation and to provide an optimal environment for training young researchers.

 

About the role

The selected scientist will perform research related to the characterization of the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory activity of a recombinant protein, PRP6-HO7, derived from a physiologic complement inhibitor, over innate immune cells (identification of the responsible surface receptor, signal transduction pathways involved, …), and in the diagnostic and therapeutic potential of this protein in autoinflammatory and autoimmune disease models.

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Wide experience (8 or more years) in the immune-inflammatory processes area.
  • Molecular and cellular biology of innate immune cells.

Education and training

  •  PhD in Biomedicine 

Technical & soft skills

  • Mastering cell culture, advanced cell and molecular biology techniques, immunology assays, flow cytometry, and the study of animal models of inflammation.

Languages

  • Good command of the English language

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
