About the research group

The Nephrology and Renal Transplantation Group's interests span a broad field, ranging from immunology, renal replacement therapy, transplantation, chronic kidney disease, including diabetic nephropathy, and regenerative medicine. Our research is primarily translational, collaborative and aimed at improving the care and health of patients with kidney disease. In the area of Regenerative Medicine, our vision is to develop new therapies and treatments for acute and chronic kidney disease by controlling inflammation and activating endogenous regenerative mechanisms or by using renal progenitor cells.

 

About the role

Collection and handling of biological samples (human and mouse).

Cell isolation, primary cell culture and related techniques.

Histological techniques in human and mouse tissues.

Immunoassay techniques (ELISA, ..) and protein isolation and detection by western blot.

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Highly qualified experience in advanced kidney histological technics.
  • Previous experience in preclinical and translational research, including management of human samples
  • Experience in cell culture

Education and training

  •  Higher Vocational Training (CFGS) in Pathology 

Technical & soft skills

  • Immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, confocal evaluation, image analysis quantification
  • Management of primary cell cultures, FACS, cell-sorting techniques. Soft skills: analytical and critical thinking, ethics and integrity, information seeking, flexibility social and teamworking ability
  • MS Office knowledge

Languages

  • Good command of the English language

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV). The research focuses of IDIBELL are cancer, neuroscience, translational medicine and regenerative medicine.
