About the research group

The selected candidate will join a research team based at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (University of Barcelona), and affiliated with the Gynaecological Cancer Group at IDIBELL. The project is coordinated by Dr. Mireia Martín Satué, professor at the University of Barcelona and principal investigator of the research funded by La Marató de TV3.
Our team works at the intersection of histology, pathology, and gynaecology, with a focus on translational research and the development of experimental models to unravel the mechanisms underlying the etiopathogenesis of endometriosis.

 

About the role

The selected candidate will contribute to the development of cellular and tissue-based experimental models related to endometriosis.
Their main tasks will include sample processing, cell culture, immunostaining, and microscopy, as well as support in molecular biology and histological analysis.
The candidate will work closely with other members of the team and will have the opportunity to be involved in omics data integration, depending on their background and interests.
The position is framed within a collaborative research project funded by La Marató de TV3, and the candidate is expected to enrol in a PhD program during the project.
Mobility to partner laboratories involved in the project (within Spain or internationally) may be required to complete specific experimental tasks or training.

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Previous professional experience is not required.
  • Practical knowledge or hands-on experience in basic techniques of cell biology and histology will be positively valued.

Education and training

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, or related fields.
  • Masters degree in Biomedicine, Translational Research, or a related biomedical discipline (required to be eligible for PhD studies). 

Technical & soft skills

  • Basic laboratory skills.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a respectful and empathetic attitude when working with others.

Languages

  • Good command of the English language

 

We will value, but not required

  • Previous experience in translational research projects.
  • Familiarity with histology or cell culture techniques.
  • Motivation to pursue a PhD thesis within the project framework.
