Research Technician - Pancreas Regeneration (20 h/week)

About the research group

The Pancreas Regeneration team is part of the Regenbell program at IDIBELL and the Department of Physiological Science at University of Barcelona-Campus Bellvitge. The team has several projects focused on pancreas biology, pancreas regeneration and pancreatic cancer with a special focused on pancreatic ductal cells.

About the role

The candidate will join an international research team focused on investigating pancreas regeneration and pancreatic cancer. The candidate will be involved in a new research project focused on the identification of new pancreatic cancer biomarkers based on cell of origin of the tumour by using novel mouse models.

Professional experience

• Mouse technician or laboratory technician

Education and training

• CFGM in any laboratory-related discipline
• Animal license up to date 

Technical & soft skills

• Experience in animal handling or animal experimentation is a must. Candidates that do not fulfill this requisite, please abstain from applying. Animal license up to date
• Background in molecular biology
• Highly independent, motivated, and collaborative person
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently

Languages

• Good command of the English language

We will value, but not required

• Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedicine or related fields
• Master's degree in Biochemistry/Neurosciences/Biomedicine
• Experience in cell culture
• Experience in PCR
• Experience in immunohistochemistry
• Good level of English

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
