About the research group

Systemic, Vascular Diseases and Ageing

Our research team, led by Dr. Xavier Pintó, Head of the Vascular Risk Unit of the Internal Medicine Service of Bellvitge University Hospital and professor at the School of Medicine at the University of Barcelona (UB). Our group was founded more than 25 years ago and is included in the Research Groups of the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL), linked to the Bellvitge University Hospital. Our group is also integrated in the Center for Biomedical Research in Network of the Physiopathology of Obesity and Nutrition dependent on the Carlos III Health Institute (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness). Our general objective is to study the determinants of dyslipidemia, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

 

About the role

  • Collaboration as a dietician in clinical trials
  • Review and elaboration of didactic material for the improvement of lifestyle habits
  • Lectures to update knowledge on nutrition
  • Visiting special cases of patients in the Vascular Risk Unit
  • Statistical analysis of clinical data
  • Discussion of the clinical trial results

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Experience in conducting workshops and training talks on nutrition, lifestyle habits and promotion of physical activity.
  • Experience in conducting motivational group visits to achieve desired goals.
  • Experience in the assessment of anthropometric measurements (weight, abdominal perimeter, blood pressure ...).
  • Experience in food-frequency, beverage questionnaire and physical activity questionnaire: Minnesota leisure time physical activity, e PAR-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire), Rapid Assessment of Physical Activity (RAPA1 and RAPA2), the Nurses Health Study sedentary lifestyle questionnaire (NHS) and the chair test.
  • Experience in cognitive-neuropsychological tests: Mini-Mental Status Examination, clock test, phonological verbal fluency test (animals + P), the reverse series of digits test (WAIS-III), and the trail-making test.
  • Experience in psychopathological questionnaires: Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II), multidimensional scale of weight locus of control, eating disorders diagnostic criteria (TCA).
  • Experience in quality of life questionnaires: quality of life scale (Short -Form 36).
  • Experience in the management of visit scheduling and blood analysis.
  • Experience in the management of samples, data collection questionnaires and resolution of possible incidents.
  • Experience in the elaboration of didactic material to promote the improvement of life habits.
  • Have collaborated in a Unit specialized in Cardiovascular prevention and lipid metabolism.
  • Have collaborated in clinical trials of Nutrition, Cardiovascular Risk Factors, and Lipid Metabolism,.
  • Experience in enter research data into e-CRF


Education and training

  •  Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics 


Technical & soft skills

  • ACTIC certificate medium or high
  • Advanced knowledge of Statistics
  • CRFin eMedidata, Clintrack


Languages

  • Good command of the English language

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
