About the research group

Infections of the Respiratory Tract and in Immunocompromised Patients

HIV and Sexual Transmitted Diseases (STD) Unit (Infectious Disease Service of Hopsital Universitari de Bellvitge) was created in 1985 and currently offers assistance to over 1800 HIV-infected patients. The Unit counts with a large research experience by participating for more than 20 years in national and international clinical trials, as well as conducting and directing its own individual and multicenter scientific projects. The Unit offers also assistance to patients with STD. In 2019, the program for users of Prophylaxis pre-exposure to HIV was started, attaining 300 current users. In January 2013, the program of anal cancer screening was implemented at the HIV Unit, and more than 500 patients have already been visited. Several clinical studies on STD and anal cancer screening are currently being conducted at the Unit.

 

About the role

The candidate is going to develop the research assistance work in the field of STD and anal cancer screening program. The candidate will be in charge of: coordination of clinical studies, collection of clinical samples, review of results and follow-up of the participants included in the studies. Creation, maintenance and updating of database of investigational clinical studies.

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Prior contractual relationship with IDIBELL
  • At least 1 year in the care of patients with STDs and in the management of patients attending an anal cancer screening program
  • Obtaining biological samples (blood, rectal and pharynx smears) and medical support in an anal cancer screening program


Education and training

  •  Nursing degree 


Technical skills

  • Competent in MS Office software applications
  • Knowledge of the SAP Argos Electronic Medical Record system
  • Open acces and database management


Languages

  • Good command of the English language
