About the research group

 

The Stem Cell Potency group led by Prof. Angel Raya in IDIBELL’s Regenerative Medicine Program has longstanding interest and expertise in the generation, genetic manipulation, and directed differentiation of pluripotent stem cells, as well as in advanced tissue engineering strategies.

 

About the role

 

The selected candidate will participate in an international consortium aimed at developing and testing novel nanotherapies to prevent cardiac fibrosis and enhance regeneration.

 

 

Job requirements

 

Professional experience

 

  • Strong background in stem cell biology and/or cardiac development
  • Proven expertise in the culture, manipulation, and directed differentiation of human plu-ripotent stem cells

 

Education and training

 

  •  PhD in Health Sciences (e.g. Medicine, Biomedicine, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, etc.) 

 

Technical & soft skills

 

  • Passionate and motivated by science
  • Team player but also with the capacity to work autonomously
  • Analytical and critical thinking with ethics and integrity
  • Excellent communication skills

 

Languages

 

  • Good command of the English language

 

 

 

We will value, but not required

 

  • Animal handling certification
  • Previous experience with high-content screening platforms
  • Bioinformatics training

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV). The research focuses of IDIBELL are cancer, neuroscience, translational medicine and regenerative medicine.
