About the research group

Molecular Interactions and Optical Microscopy are Units of the Scientific and Technical Services of IDIBELL, and offer transversal support to the users.

 

About the role

At the Molecular Interactions Platform, the technician will provide support to optimize the design of experiments and the analysis of the results obtained, especially in Nanostring's CosMx spatial tissue multiomics platform.

At the Optical Microscopy Platform, the technician will support users in the experimental design and data analysis of studies that require image analysis performed with the Zeiss confocal.

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Experience in Biostatistics and analysis of omics data.

  • Advanced knowledge in programming language for Data Science: R / Bioconductor and Python.

  • Advanced knowledge in programming in Linux environments (Bash) and databases (MySQL, PHP, HTML)..

 

Education and training

  •  Degree in Bioinformatics or Health Sciences with a master's degree in Bioinformatics. 

 

Technical & soft skills

  • Focused on Teamwork

  • Proactive.

  • Responsible.

 

Languages

  • Good command of the English language

 

We will value, but not required

  • Knowledge of Image J/Fiji and programming in Java and JavaScript.

 

  • Experience in spatial omics, machine learning, deep learning and neural networks.

 

  • Experience in multidimensional flow cytometry data analysis on platforms such as Cytobank and OMIQ.

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
