About the research group

The Accounting Unit operates within the Department of Economic Management. Its primary responsibility is to oversee, evaluate, and document all financial transactions conducted by the institution to ensure the preparation of comprehensive and accurate reports in compliance with applicable laws. This unit handles various tasks, including the management of fixed assets, taxation matters, cash flow management, and the dissemination of financial data to stakeholders such as the Generalitat de Catalunya, financial auditors, clients, and suppliers.

About the role

This position directly reports to the Head of Economic Management and requires a dynamic, results-oriented candidate with a strong collaborative spirit. The main duties and responsibilities include:

    ·   Managing the day-to-day accounting and reporting functions of the business
    ·   Ensuring the accuracy of monthly closing procedures for general accounting, accounts payable, and treasury
    ·   Completing tax forms and settlements as required
    ·   Compiling monthly and annual financial information and key performance indicators (KPIs) for submission to the Executive Team and stakeholders
    ·   Preparing financial data for IDIBELL's budget
    ·   Providing support for the statutory financial audit
    ·   Ensuring the effectiveness of financial procedures and internal controls
    ·   Offering comprehensive assistance to the Head of Economic Management

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in Accounting and Tax

Education and training

  •  Bachelor's degree in Economics or Business Administration

  • Prior experience in submitting files to the Generalitat de Catalunya on a monthly basis
  • Previous experience in preparing and presenting taxes, including VAT and IRPF

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV). The research focuses of IDIBELL are cancer, neuroscience, translational medicine and regenerative medicine.
