About the research group

The postdoctoral researcher will be incorporated into the Digitalization for the Sustainability of the Healthcare System (DS3) research group. The group focus its research on the development, implementation, and assessment of digital health solutions for improving public health and healthcare delivery.

 

About the role

The selected candidate will work on the EU funded project PIECES: “Towards large-scale adaption and tailored implementation of evidence-based primary cancer prevention programmes in Europe and Beyond” (GA: 101104390). The PIECES project aims to implement public health programs for primary prevention of cancer using an evidence-based framework of implementation science.

We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and talented PhD in Public Health willing to work with a multidisciplinary team of methodologists, data scientists, and social researchers. The main duties for this position are the following:

  • Design implementation plans for evidence-based interventions aimed at improving population health and the quality of healthcare delivery
  • Coordinate the implementation of evidence-based solutions aimed at improving population health and the quality of healthcare delivery in Catalonia
  • Design and coordinate mixed method studies (i.e., qualitative and quantitative) for assessing health and implementation outcomes
  • Design and conduct epidemiological studies using data from electronic health records

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Previous experience in epidemiological or public health research
  • Previous experience in publishing research works in high-quality peer-reviewed journals


Education and training

  • BSc/MSc in Life Sciences
  • PhD in Public Health or related fields 


Soft skills

  • Well-organised person with very good attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Confidence to engage with collaborators at all levels of seniority, across different regions and sectors of the public health and healthcare system
  • Team player with good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills


Languages

  • Good command of the English language

  • Estimated annual gross salary: 35.000 - 40.000 €

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
