About de project:

The HPV FASTER-Implement is a European Union funded project focused on promoting equitable access to cervical cancer prevention strategies—namely human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination and cervical cancer screening. The project targets vulnerable groups, specifically migrant women and sex workers in Spain, and combines qualitative and participatory methods with policy and intervention analysis. The objective is to increase participation by exploring participants’ knowledge, beliefs, and lived experiences.

 

About the research group

 

The Unit of Information and Interventions (UNIC II) at the Cancer Epidemiology Research Program has long-standing expertise in the prevention of HPV infections and cervical cancer. It facilitates information for decision-making bodies and enables public health interventions both nationally and internationally and it has been recognised for conducting high-quality research to improve the prevention of cancers associated with HPV infection. At the national level, UNIC II is working on the organisation and implementation of the new population-based HPV Screening Programme in Catalonia, the quality assessment and impact evaluation of the Catalan HPV Prevention Plan, and the development of modelling studies for the economic evaluation of different cancer prevention interventions. UNIC II's main areas of expertise are HPV epidemiology, HPV vaccines, cervical cancer screening, implementation and monitoring, mathematical modelling of HPV prevention, and training for healthcare professionals on HPV and cervical cancer

 

About the role

The main responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop a doctoral thesis project within the framework of the project.
  • Collect and analyze qualitative data (e.g., interviews, focus groups).
  • Contribute to scientific publications and technical reports.
  • Coordinate with European project partners and participate in international meetings.
  • Support the organization of knowledge transfer activities at local and regional levels.

 

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • Professional experience in qualitative health research.

 

Education and training

 

  • Master's degree in Medical Anthropology and Global Health (or related field).

 

Technical & soft skills

  • Advanced knowledge on Atlas.ti, NVivo, or similar softwares.
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, and critical thinking.

 

Languages

  • High proficiency in Catalan and Spanish, both spoken and written.
  • High proficiency in English, both spoken and written, to participate in international meetings and write academic articles.

 

We will value, but not required:

  • Motivation to start a research career through a PhD program.
  • Basic knowledge of health systems, public policies, intercultural approaches, and vulnerability.
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Previous experience participating in international projects.

Our institute:
