About- the research group

The PhD student will work in two groups: “Pneumology Research group” and “Unit of Nutrition and Cancer”

The Pneumology research group is focused on looking for answers to respiratory clinical problems and therapeutical solutions on pneumologic diseases without effective treatments.
The Unit of Nutrition and Cancer comprises a multidisciplinary team of epidemiologists, nutritionists, biologists, and statisticians. It is focused primarily on etiological research into the relationship between nutrition and cancer, but also other diseases. This includes diet and dietary patterns, body composition and physical activity as possible determinants of cancer, and other chronic diseases. To achieve this, we combine traditional epidemiological approaches with more innovative tools including exposure and susceptibility biomarkers.

About the role

The position is for doing the PhD evaluating the associations between dietary factors and pulmonary fibrosis progression. He/she will be in charge of the dietary assessment of the patients, preparing the database, computing the statistical analyses, interpreting the results, and disseminating the findings in manuscripts, scientific conferences and talks to patients/caregivers. He/she will do the work field in the Pneumology Research group and the statistics in the unit of Nutrition and Cancer.

Job requirements

Professional experience

• Preferable experience as a dietician in a clinic/hospital.

Education and training

•  Degree or master in nutrition and dietetics or similar 

Technical & soft skills

• Experience in dietary assessment

Languages

• Good command of the English language
