About the research group

The Cognition and Brain Plasticity research group conducts research in the area of cognitive neuroscience of language and executive function, particularly in language learning, bilingual processing and control of human actions. To achieve this, it uses a combination of different crucial neuroimaging techniques to better understand human cognitive functions. The group is also interested in brain plasticity; in this line, it studies the use of music therapy in the treatment of stroke patients.

About the role

The Project Manager position requires a professional with experience in research within laboratories focused on cognitive science, as well as a background in music therapy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing research projects in the field of human cognition, incorporating music therapy as part of intervention strategies. The candidate is expected to have strong organizational skills, the ability to lead teams, and experience overseeing research processes to ensure project objectives and deadlines are met.

Job requirements

Professional experience

• Research experience in a laboratory focused on cognitive science
• Experience in music therapy

Education and training

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Biology, Occupational Therapy, or a related health science field
• Master’s degree in Cognitive Science or Neuroscience
• PhD degree in Cognitive Neuroscience, Biomedicine, or Medicine 

Technical & soft skills

• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Experience working with patients
• Proficiency in scientific writing
• Competence in statistical analysis
• Experience with neuroimaging analysis

Languages

• Good command of the English language
• Proficient level of the English language Native level of the Spanish language

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
