About the research group

Breast cancer

IDIBELL is a top institution for clinical and translational research in cancer. In 2021, for example more than 500 clinical trials were conducted. The Breast Cancer research group has extensive expertise in clinical and translational research, being involved in more than 150 phase I to IV breast cancer clinical trials, and window-of-opportunity trials.There are also ongoing clinical and translational projects supported by competitive funding, including the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (SCIII) and the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology, and in collaboration with other institutions such as CNIO.

 

About the role

  • Coordination of Oncology Research Projects associated with Medical Oncology Department (Breast Cancer Unit) for:
    • Performance and application of coordinated procedures between the different clinical services involved in the inclusion, treatment and follow-up of patient’s participation.
    • Support to Investigators and patients with electronic tools implementation.
  • Management of human tissues between Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge (HUB) and ICO or different external referring sites
  • Record of transactions in sponsor’s systems. Record of trial and patient’s information into clinical and research applications.
  • Administrative procedures during the study
  • Case Report Form training, completion and correction. Queries resolution.
  • Communication with Sponsors and CROs.
  • Preparation and attention to monitoring visits, audits and inspections, internal and external information meetings.
  • Project management

 

Job requirements

Professional experience

  • At minimum of 6 months of experience in oncology or hematology clinical research project or clinical trials ( as coordinator or data entry) or 6 months of experience as a Project Manager


Education and training

  • Bachelor degree in Life Science
  • Education in clinical or translational research
  • Education in Good Clinical Practices 


Technical & soft skills

  • Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), Internet, Patient's files
  • Internet Browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Edge) and Patient's Files
  • To organize, order, and perform different activities with knowledge of their influence on the final outcome of a process
  • Understand the points of view of other people, give help
  • Ability to work under pressure


Languages

  • Good command of the English language

 

We will value, but not required

  • Experience as Clinical trials Monitor
  • Familiarity with SAP Argos Electronic Medical Record System
  • Previous experience in data management of oncology studies
  • Previous experience in clinical trials (other than cancer)

Our institute

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
