About the research group

Hematopoyetic and lymphoid tumors

The Haematopoietic and Lymphoid Tumours research group focuses on various types of blood tumours, their characteristics and patient's responses to treatment. The study of tumours originating in the bloodline includes lymphomas and leukaemia, which have a major impact at the populational level. The study of their origin and characteristics, as well as testing treatments for these tumours, involves creating laboratory models and studies with patients (clinical trials).

About the role

Study molecular mechanisms involved in the development of multiple myeloma and the study of therapeutic response/resistance in the different phases of this neoplasm, including extramedullary disease, through analysis by RNAseq strategies, exome seq and CNV arrays of human samples and the establishment of advanced models in vivo and in vitro for therapeutic and functional studies.

We are offering a postdoctoral position within the framework of the INVESTIGO programme to work on a new research project focusing on the study of the molecular mechanisms of progression and resistance in multiple myeloma including the extramedullary disease.

Main tasks:

• To perform research procedures using patient samples, and in vivo and in vitro models and analyze and present the results
• To participate in research meetings, national/international conferences and elaboration of scientific publications

Job requirements

  • Be 16 years or older and not have reached the age of 30 on September 1st.
  • At the start date of the contract, it will be an essential requirement to be registered as unoccupied job seekers (DONO) in the Public Employment Service of Catalonia (SOC) .
  • At the time of starting the contract candidates cannot have worked at IDIBELL in the previous 6 months.

Professional experience

  • Previous experience in cellular and molecular biology
  • Previous experience in mouse models and FELASA accreditation

Education and training

  • PhD degree in Cancer or Hematology

 Languages

  • Good command of the Catalan, Spanish and English languages
